A Table fit for a ghoul!
|
- ESTES' COLORED ART SAND
- GLUE: Elmer's or any inexpensive white school glue
- TRAY: a foam plate works fine
- CUP OF WATER AND PAPER TOWELS: (to clean and dry brushes)
- BRUSHES: #0 and #3
- OTHER: The projects below may require additional materials. Read the directions for the project you are doing; additional materials are in bold type.
- Only put a small amount of glue on your tray at a time. This keeps the glue from setting up and getting too thick to work with.
- Clean brushes often in water and dry with a paper towel. This keeps glue from building up on brushes.
- When sprinkling sand, hold it over a small box (a shirt size gift box works well) to catch loose sand. This will make cleanup a lot easier.
- When giving sand second coat of the same color, you only have to wait a couple of minutes between coats, but when using a different color to make detail design, you must wait until the first color is completely dry (a blow dryer speeds up the drying time).
- Always apply glue in small sections at a time. This will prevent glue from drying too quickly before you get your sand sprinkled on.

Table Settings for your Halloween Party
|
TABLE PLACE SETTINGS
Add a great personal touch to your party by making personal place setting for each of your guests.
- Simply take colored construction paper and fold in half and draw your favorite Halloween shape such as tombstone, candy corn, ghost, etc.
- Cut out your design being sure to leave a small, attached area at the top so when you are finished the invitation will stand up.
- Then with a paintbrush, simply paint on glue to add names and decoration then sprinkle on your favorite Estes' art sand color. All your guests will surely feel "hauntingly" invited.
- Make fun candy holders with paper cups and plates and fun googly eyes.
|

FLYING GHOST
- Take one napkin and crumple into a ball.
- Take that ball and place another napkin over it creating the ghost head. With a piece of fishing string tie securely around the neck of the ghost, leaving extra string to attach to a high place.
- Paint on glue for eyes and mouth, add sand and you have a fun, flying ghost.

TRICK OR TREAT BAGS
With vibrant, fun colors, Estes' art sand is a great way to personalize your Halloween bags. Estes' art sand also gives you a great, 3-D texture that you can't get with paints or markers--and besides, what could be more fun than making your own trick or treat bag for all those goodies?
- Simply get a paper bag of your choice,
- Draw on fun, Halloween designs and sayings,
- Fill in with glue, add great sand colors and fill to the top with sweet treats.

SPIDER RINGS
- To give your plastic spider rings a hairy look just coat with glue and add sand that will make anyone think twice before touching.

 Are you scared of spiders?
|
LIGHT BULB SPIDERS
- Take new or used light bulbs and paint a light coat of glue onto the glass part of the light bulb.
- Coat with your favorite color or colors of sand and allow to dry. You may add as many layers as needed to get the desired effect--just allow one coat to dry before adding another (only a few minutes).
- For the head, take a black magic marker or black paint and cover the metal part of bulb. Once dry, wrap pipe cleaners around the metal part for the spider's legs and add a few drops of glue to secure. Add some googly eyes and listens for the screams!

JACK O'LANTERNS
Estes' Art Sand gives you a new way to decorate your pumpkins this Halloween. It's safe and fun for everyone without having to use sharp knives for cutting and carving. There's no digging out the messy insides and your pumpkins will last much longer than traditional carved pumpkins.
- Use a felt tip or gel pen to draw on your design (these two pens seemed to work the best without scarring the flesh of the pumpkin). If once you have drawn your design you decide you do not like it, simply spray on glass cleaner and wipe off with paper towel.
- Use your paintbrush to apply glue to your design working from the outside in and with one color at a time, allowing glue to dry before going to the next color.
- If you would like to set your pumpkins outside to greet all your ghouls and goblins spray pumpkins with a matte craft sealer to protect it from the weather.
